Welcome to the Dave Turner Football Memorial page

Dave Turner with his wife Trisha

Much loved and respected Manager of Shrivenham Football Club and previously Wootton Bassett and Pewsey Vale, Dave passed away on 4 February 2014 aged 52 following heart complications. Dave’s widow Trish and sons Alex and James have been overwhelmed by the support and response from everyone from the many sides to Dave’s life. Support has been pouring in – from his huge circle of football friends and teams and those he has coached for more than 20 years, from his work colleagues at Unilever, his ex army colleagues, running group, cycling and gym buddies and all Dave & Trish’s wonderful friends.

Trish, Alex, James, Dave’s mum, brothers Mick and Rich and sister Debbie are heartbroken but bursting with pride for the wonderful man and so humbled by all the lovely comments received and would like to say a huge ‘Thank You’.

So many people have asked how they can help, the family have decided to launch the Dave Turner Memorial Fund. Dave’s dream for later life was to coach disabled children and the fund will raise money in his memory for Swindon Town Football in the Community. This is a registered charitable trust Dave has worked with in the past. They run fantastic football and multi sports based programmes and provide social opportunities for disabled and special needs children in their community.

A virginmoneygiving link will be posted here shortly for donations. In the meantime donations can be made on the STFIC website www.stfitc.co.uk
